New Adventures

I really have to keep up with the blog because Colleen is literally learning something new everyday. Until today, Colleen would sit down if you held her hands and tried to get her to walk, but today she took several steps holding my hands. She was walking over to the nicest dog ever-- Tonka (he passed the admittance test for pets on wheels, so you know he's good) and she seemed quite confident she could do it. Recently, she's been standing and supporting herself with just one hand and walking from one stationary object to another (as long as she has hold of something). She will be walking soon!

For her one year stats Colleen is:

26.8 pounds-- >97th percentile
31.5 inches tall-- 95th percentile
head circumference-- >97th percentile

She is bottle free and eating anything that crosses her path.

Colleen has a security blanket that she just loves. It's soft, fuzzy and purple and she sleeps with it at night. We usually don't carry it around everywhere, but it does find it's way around the house (as I'm sure we have pictures to indicate). But when she decides it so, sometimes Colleen will improvise and use our soft fuzzy brown queen size blanket from the living room as her security blanket. She crawls around the room and drags this huge blanket with her -- it kind of goes like this-- crawling, crawling, crawling, stop. gather brown blanket, heave more of it, heave more of it, heave more of it, until she has this huge blanket in a pile. It was so cute to watch!

Colleen also has a new word- "bug". We read a story that has a lady bug on every page and she points it out and says bug on every page. She loves to read. She loves to read the same exact story over and over again and throws the book at you when you are finished-- her version of asking you to do it again.

I love her little studying face. She can very serious.
